Motorcycles And Motorcycle Parts

By: Dave Brown.

If I can't find my Dad I would bet he is in the garage. He will be there working on his motorbikes. He likes to get creative as well as he adds custom motorcycle parts. Yes his bikes look different but they are part of his personality.

In fact one of my very first memories is of my Dad working hard in the garage. I would go out and join him wanting to spend time with him. I couldn't have been more than three, maybe four years old. He would have his custom motorcycle parts and I would try and fit the old ones to my bike. Obviously I wasn't very successful.

You can probably see why I found myself interested in motorbikes, it was ingrained into me at a early age. There are people that do develop an interest quite late on and my friend was one of them. He saw a film of somebody buying a bike and using it to travel abroad. I think he got caught up in the idea and thought that he should do it too.

He decided to buy his first bike from Ebay. Now I would advise that for your first bike you either buy a new one or buy a reliable second-hand one. He took the gamble and bid for one on Ebay. You should've seen his face when it arrived. It had to be dropped off because it didn't run!

So for the next month he spend the majority on the time in magazines and on the internet looking for custom motorcycle parts to make his bike work. He spent hundreds and not knowing much about bikes, it took him a very long time to fit things. The best thing about it was he had a lot of fun. It was a very challenging project as well.

My friend's little project came to an end after taking the bike to a mechanic. He went for advice about which custom motorcycle parts would enable it to work. The mechanic told him that it was no use as the bike wouldn't function anymore.
