Dry skin is one of the most common problems people have whether related to daily skincare or to dermatological problems diagnosed by doctors. It's common knowledge that the moisturizer makes the best treatment for dry skin, yet, a body lotion and a cream often provide a multiple protection.

Weather and temperature changes, the use of chemicals and detergents, a poor quality cleanser or soap, an imbalanced diet poor in nutrients and even health problems like thyroid dysfunctions and diabetes are behind such a common symptom as dry skin. The treatment for dry skin is established depending on the elements that cause the skin dryness.

You can begin your treatment for dry skin by a thorough analysis of your eating habits and daily routines. Is your diet rich in veggies? Do you stay properly hydrated? Do you take quick showers or hot baths? What kind of makeup do you use? Do you have enough sleep at night? You may even search online and see which are the factors and causes that aggravate skin dryness so as to be able to prevent or fight against them. If we were to answer just one of the above questions: hydration is reflected in the condition of the skin.

If you drink enough liquids the toxins are more easily flushed from the system and the tissues are kept moist and fresh: with an insufficient water intake the skin will look dull. Therefore, moisturizing on the outside, but hydrating on the inside: this should be a first motto for a treatment for dry skin. Stay away from alcohol since it contributes to skin dryness by accelerating dehydration. The body needs a lot of water and makes considerable efforts to eliminate the ingested alcohol. It is also worth mentioning the fact that there is a huge number of homemade recipes that can support a basic weekly treatment for dry skin.

Fruits, vegetables, yogurt, cold-pressed oils, herbs and honey can easily turn into the right ingredients for such a treatment for dry skin. However, remember that daily routine makes the real treatment for dry skin and therefore try to give it time. Make sure to wake up early enough in the morning to have time to pamper your skin a little: cleaning, moisturizing and only then make-up application. The same tasks have to be performed in the evening before going to bed but in reversed order: make up removal, cleaning and moisturizing.
